Dig Day has finally arrived!!! It has felt like an eternity but we have finally broken ground!!!! Waaahoooooooeeeyyy!!!!!!!
We spent so much time worrying whether or not we would hit bedrock or run into issues with the excavation. We even spent a good chunk of money getting a core sample down to 12' to make sure that there wouldn't be any issues. I am glad we did this for our peace of mind. I probably would have been completely freaking out until today if we had not done it. Good news is that in the words of the excavator, "your soil is great for digging". It is also a great day for it as well, no rain at all. Hopefully things continue to go smoothly. Our greatest concern was that there would be a hiccup during digging the basement and we would be on the hook to pay for the excavator to be there for a few extra days or a week. At 1500 dollars per day that would be no small problem to have. Praise God, all is well so far.
