Since we are building a new house, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to put wiring in for surround sound. Jen does not like the idea of bulky speakers in our living room and I don't like the idea of watching movies through TV speakers so we compromised on wiring for in-wall/in-ceiling speakers.
The orange box is where all of the speaker wires will terminate on a receptacle plate that will accept banana plugs from my receiver. I am going to have to replace the single orange box with a double gang box at some point because all of the surround sound wiring plates I found take up two spots. The black wires you see running up the wall are hdmi cables. There is also an outlet behind the TV so we shouldn't see any cables.
The orange box on the left is for the left hand subwoofer. It will have an RCA jack. Towards the middle of the picture you can see a coil of wire that I zip tied up. That is where the left hand in wall speaker will be.
Same as picture above but on the right. The orange box is the 2nd subwoofer...the 2 in dolby 7.2.
You can see the coil of wire beside recessed light for in-ceiling speaker
Same as above on right side of room.
Hole Drilled for running wiring in half wall in back of room.
Same as above but on other side.
